The Lisburn Hawks are hosting a 7 week introductory league for potential new players who have little or no Softball experience!

Softball is an outdoor summer sport similar to rounders and baseball. Due to the mixed-gender nature of softball, the sport caters to a wide-range of individuals who wish to participate in a friendly, inclusive and social sport. 

As a brand new team recruiting for the first time, we are looking for new players who would like to take part in a 7 week introductory league, and then become a full time Hawk in the 2022 Ulster Softball League!  This includes 4 weeks of training, and 3 weeks of league play!   

No equipment is necessary to join, as the team will supply you with all you need to get started. You can commit as much or as little time as you can to the team. 

Training commences on the 28^th July 2021, at Wallace Park from 6.30pm. For the first 4 weeks we’ll have intro training sessions on Wednesdays at 6.30pm & Sundays at 2pm.  You can come to either one, or if you’re extra keen both. Let us know on Facebook so we can plan ahead!

Then all training will move to Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm at Wallace Park, with the Intro league game commencing on Sunday 29^th August, will double headers starting at 2.30pm.  These will be timed, tournament style games to give you a real flavour for the sport and game play.

We’re looking for 30-40 players to join us to make this a success – it’s a perfect socially distant summer sport, so why not grab some friends and come down and play ball!  The Hawks are recruiting new and existing softball players of all abilities!  You don’t have to have played the game before to take part.
